What to expect on our DISCOVER BERLIN TOUR

Want to know exactly what to expect on our DISCOVER BERLIN TOUR? Here you will find a detailed description of the emotions you will experience and exactly when you should smile when hundreds of tourists stand on the side of the road with their smartphones and want to take your picture.

A slightly different sightseeing tour through Berlin

Just so we're clear: the Discover Berlin Tour is not a traditional sightseeing tour. There's no tour guide rattling off historical facts through your headphones – we drive through Berlin so you can feel and get to know Berlin. And you'll be sitting in the smallest car in town. You'll feel every bump in the road. You'll feel the vibration of the engine working away right behind your seat. It's pure adrenaline.

Nevertheless, we are on the road: your safety is our top priority. That's why we focus on driving, braking, and being considerate of other road users, including cars and cyclists. But honestly, you'll have a permanent smile on your face when you hear the sound of these little mini cars, feel the vibrations, and gently press the gas pedal. Let's have some fun! Come by, you'll love it.

1. ) The R.A.W. site

The RAW site on Revaler Strasse in Friedrichshain is one of those places in Berlin where you immediately notice that something is happening. It used to be a repair facility for the Reichsbahn railway, but today it is a creative playground full of street art, cultural projects, wild ideas, and lots of international flair. Raw, colorful, lively, and truly Berlin.

During the day, RAW feels like an open art gallery. Graffiti, murals, stickers everywhere—every wall looks like a new Instagram highlight. Perfect for spontaneous photos or entire shoots. Flea markets, pop-up stands, small shops, and outdoor sports spots pop up between the old brick halls, especially in summer. And if you're hungry or thirsty, there are endless beer gardens and food spots here in a relaxed atmosphere.

Despite the many visitors, RAW has retained its authentic Berlin character. Locals love it just as much as tourists—whether for coffee, lunch, or a relaxed weekend stroll.

And at night? RAW really comes alive. The site becomes one of the hottest nightlife spots in the city: bars, clubs, open-air stages, vibrant music, and people from all over the world. Illuminated graffiti, loud bass, good vibes—a slice of authentic Berlin club culture.

This day-and-night mix is what makes RAW so special: creative, spontaneous, energetic, and full of urban spirit. A must-see for anyone who wants to really experience Berlin.
And this is exactly where we start our legendary Hotrod Tour – you'll find us at the third gate entrance, right next to the Schalander beer garden. Please be there 20 minutes before the tour starts so we can give you some practical instructions about the vehicles.

If the adrenaline rush makes you hungry after the tour, there are plenty of restaurants nearby. Either just around the corner or a short walk away on Simon-Dach-Straße, a real magnet for Berliners and visitors alike.

2.) Modersohn Bridge

The Modersohn Bridge in Friedrichshain sets the mood right at the start of our tour. As soon as you drive your hot rod over it, you're treated to an iconic view of the vast network of S-Bahn tracks – an urban panorama that instantly radiates pure Berlin vibes. It's especially magical in the evening: the sun dips toward the west, the sky glows in shades of orange and pink, and suddenly the whole bridge feels like a free sunset lounge.

Official seating? None. But that's not necessary here. Berliners simply make themselves comfortable anywhere – on the wide edges, on the railings, on the steps. People sit everywhere, chatting, taking photos, enjoying the view, or watching the trains rush by below. This mix of urbanity, a touch of industrial charm, and a good dose of big-city romance is simply typical Berlin.

The Modersohn Bridge is not only super photogenic, but also a mini escape from everyday life—relaxed, uncomplicated, and full of vibes. For us, it's the perfect first highlight of the Hotrod Tour: a spot that shows how beautifully raw and familiar Berlin can be at the same time.

3.) East Side Gallery

The drive along the East Side Gallery is definitely one of the wow moments of our tour. As soon as we turn in, the longest preserved section of the Wall lies ahead of us – today one of the most famous open-air galleries in the world. Over a kilometer full of color, political messages, history, and genuine Berlin iconography. And best of all: on this long, straight stretch, we can finally pick up a little speed in our hot rods. Visitors bustle about on the left and right, taking photos nonstop and celebrating the street art vibes.

Shortly before that, we glide under a real classic bonus: the famous yellow subway, which runs above ground between Warschauer Straße and Schlesisches Tor and rattles across the Oberbaum Bridge. A Berlin moment that everyone knows and loves. If you have time later, be sure to walk across the bridge! It connects Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg—two districts that are completely different but together form Berlin's creative heart. Over in Kreuzberg, bars, restaurants, and plenty of urban flair await.

As we speed along the East Side Gallery, we also pass the Uber Arena —THE spot for concerts and major sporting events. And a little tip: be sure to smile here! This is usually where the first hot rod photos of you are taken. The combination of street art, wall history, and our eye-catching mini speedsters is simply magnetic.

After the tour, it's definitely worth visiting the East Side Gallery on your own. You can stroll leisurely along the Spree, view the artwork without any time pressure, and soak up the whole Berlin vibe again at your own pace.

4.) Karl-Marx-Allee + Strausberger Platz

Buckle up—because as soon as we turn onto Strausberger Platz in our mini hot rods, it feels like we've been catapulted straight into retro Berlin. The square is huge, circular, and looks like a stage where you are the star of the show in your small, loud hot rod. And believe me: people love to take photos when you roar past.

From the square, we head to the legendary Karl-Marx-Allee —an architectural marvel and one of the most exciting chapters in Berlin's history. In the 1950s, the avenue was built as a socialist showcase project of the GDR: wide boulevards, monumental residential palaces, and plenty of "we're building a better future" vibes. Today, the whole thing looks like a mixture of Eastern Bloc chic and a film set, perfect for cruising between the iconic towers in your Mini Hotrod.

Historically, Karl-Marx-Allee is a real heavyweight: the parade route of the GDR, a symbol of political power, and later the scene of the 1953 protests. So when you drive here, you're not just racing down a street—you're gliding through a piece of contemporary history.

And the best part? The adrenaline rush when your hot rod rumbles down the avenue suddenly brings history to life.

5.) Alexanderplatz

Let's go – focus on the road ahead, put on a smile – and off to Alexanderplatz, probably Berlin's most famous concrete adventure playground. "Alex" is a kind of urban playground for everyone who loves big city vibes: loud, colorful, a little chaotic, and that's exactly why it's so iconic. You know it from the news, TV shows, travel guides... but none of that comes close to the feeling of being right in the middle of it with your mini hot rod, the sound of your little speedster echoing between the skyscrapers, and people in the cars next to you taking pictures and waving at you.

And then: the TV tower. 365 meters of pure Berlin attitude. No matter where you are, it always seems to be looking out over the rooftops, like a giant signpost saying, "This is where the heart of the city beats." When you drive toward Alexanderplatz, it feels like the tower is welcoming you personally. It's so present that it almost feels like your own personal landmark buddy is riding along with you.

Sure, the traffic here is often a bit... let's call it sluggish. Welcome to official Berlin-Mitte. But let's be honest: being stuck in traffic in a hot rod is still different. People stare, laugh, pull out their cell phones and take pictures of you as if you were the secret star of a Berlin blockbuster. And you sit there in your mini hot rod, buzzing with adrenaline, with a permanent smile on your face—even when you're moving at a snail's pace.

Historically, Alexanderplatz has always been a hotspot: formerly a transport hub, later the center of GDR city life, today a melting pot of shopping, street food, subculture, and big-city energy. Every meter tells a story—of upheaval, new beginnings, and authentic Berlin moments.

When you drive along here, you feel that pulsating Berlin vibe more intensely than almost anywhere else. Your hot rod rattles along, the city comes alive—and you're right in the middle of it all.

6.) Münzstraße and Hackescher Markt

We continue along Münzstraße to Hackescher Markt—aka Berlin's unofficial hot rod catwalk. As soon as you turn the corner, the speed limit drops to 30 km/h. Officially, this is for traffic safety reasons... but let's be honest. We all know what's really going on here. Berlin just wanted to give you more time to be photographed in style. And it works—absolutely.

Münzstraße is one of those spots where Berlin feels particularly urban: stylish shops, people with coffee to go, cameras everywhere. As soon as you show up here with your mini hot rod, the street turns into a catwalk. You're the model, your outfit is the roaring hot rod, and the audience is already waiting—smartphones in hand, curious glances, big smiles.

On the way to Hackescher Markt, this feeling becomes even more intense. The neighborhood is a mix of street style, creative scene, and Berlin coolness. Everyone here loves something that stands out—and a hot rod always stands out. You hear the roar of your engine, feel the vibe, and heads turn everywhere. Some wave, others laugh, many film. Your personal moment in the spotlight.

And the best part? While you're cruising, you get this constant adrenaline rush. It's not just a ride—it's a real "look at me, I'm living the Berlin moment" feeling.

In short: Münzstraße + hot rod = catwalk. Hackescher Markt + you = urban highlight.

7.) Reichstag

Now we're off to the Reichstag —a spot that simply has to be on every Berlin to-do list. And yes, of course we're cruising along here in our hot rods. Why? Quite simply because there's hardly any other place that combines history, politics, and pure capital city vibes as intensely as this one.

The Reichstag is not only the seat of the Bundestag, but also a symbol of change and new beginnings. From the German Empire to the Weimar Republic, from the fire of 1933 to reunification—it feels as if every era has swept through here. And right in the middle of it all, you are, rattling, beaming, adrenaline coursing through your veins.

What's more, Sir Norman Foster's glass dome looks as if it were built specifically to reflect hot rods. As you drive past the government district, you can sense the mix of historical significance and modern Berlin vibe. People marvel, pull out their cell phones, and you become a rolling highlight once again.

In short: we're driving along here because the Reichstag is pure Berlin and you absolutely must see it.

Berlin Reichstag / Bundestag

8.) Bundestag

Our next highlight: the Bundestag – and here you immediately feel that you have arrived in the heart of Berlin. As soon as you roll into the government district in your hot rod, the first police officers appear. Lots of police officers. Really lots. You almost feel like your every move is being watched. But hey: as long as you stick to the 30 mph speed limit , everything is fine. And that's what we do anyway – after all, we want everyone to have enough time to admire us in our hot rod.

This part of the tour is surprisingly relaxed. Between modern glass, architecturally striking buildings, and perfect order, you glide along the Spree, and suddenly Berlin seems almost meditative. The water, the buildings, the vastness—it's a rare moment when the capital takes a deep breath.

And that's exactly why we're driving along here: because the government district shows just how diverse Berlin is. Loud and wild? Sure. But also structured, elegant, and with really beautiful views.

9.) House of World Cultures

Next, we arrive at the House of World Cultures – or, as Berliners affectionately call it, the "Pregnant Oyster." And this is where we take a little break, depending on the traffic situation. After all the hot rod noise, it feels really good to stretch our legs, take a few photos, and get our adrenaline back to normal levels... well, at least we try.

The spot is perfect for this: the curved architecture, the Spree river right next to it, the Tiergarten park behind it—this is one of those places where Berlin shows itself to be particularly aesthetic. While the hot rods stand side by side like a small fleet of eye-catching pocket racers, everyone takes a moment to catch their breath, laugh, check their photos, and feel this mix of adventure and capital city flair.

And after a few minutes? Of course, you're right back on track. The engine roars, the grin returns—and so does the adrenaline. Berlin won't wait.

10.) Brandenburg Gate

Okay, now comes one of the absolute goosebump moments of our tour: the drive to the Brandenburg Gate. As soon as we approach, the street turns into your very own red carpet. Attention: here, you are definitely the top model—and absolutely EVERYONE is looking at you. No joke. Smartphones are pulled out, people stop, some wave, others laugh, and you sit there in your mini hot rod like the star of a Berlin fashion shoot on four small wheels.

We drive in a convoy, the hot rods like a small gang—flashy, loud, stylish. And then the moment arrives: you see the Brandenburg Gate in front of you, getting closer and closer, more and more impressive. We get so close that you feel like you could almost touch the sandstone pillars. This mix of monument, history, and pure Berlin icon, together with the hot rod vibe, is simply unique.

The sound of your machine echoes between the buildings, people are going wild with excitement—and you're right in the middle of it all, adrenaline pumping through your veins and a permanent grin on your face.

Don't forget to smile! This is where the photos are taken that will later end up everywhere.
Brandenburg Gate + hot rod = an unforgettable Berlin moment.

Brandenburg Gate

11.) Potsdamer Platz

Next stop is Potsdamer Platz – and here it's time to concentrate and chill, because traffic is about to get a little wild again. But hey, that's all part of the fun! You'll be cruising through one of the most dynamic corners of the city in a hot rod, and that's exactly what makes this section so exciting. Potsdamer Platz is the second unofficial city center – this is where Berlin pulsates, where everything mixes: business, tourists, cinemas, skyscrapers, traffic lights in constant stress.

But don't worry: we know a few tricks, of course. After the initial adrenaline rush, we turn into a few quieter side streets, and suddenly everything relaxes. The traffic eases up, you can pick up speed again, and your hot rod can breathe freely. Between modern architecture, glass facades, and urban hustle and bustle, driving here feels like a little leap in time to futuristic Berlin.

And that's exactly why we love this route: you get the full range of contrasts—wild, urban, futuristic, then relaxed and cruisy again.

12.) Gendarmenmarkt + Checkpoint Charlie

If time and traffic permit, we'll make it to Checkpoint Charlie.

Then it's on to Gendarmenmarkt —and here things get really historic and majestic again. Be prepared to work your neck muscles, because at this place, your gaze will automatically be drawn upward. The buildings here are not just big—they are impressively big. The French Cathedral, German Cathedral, and Concert Hall form an ensemble that looks like something out of a classic capital city painting.

And you? You drive right past it in your hot rod. The contrast couldn't be cooler: first the modern Potsdamer Platz, then centuries-old architecture behind it, showing you how much history Berlin has to offer. As you roll past these huge facades, you feel tiny—but at the same time like the star of a movie that connects old and new worlds.

As the hot rod convoy rattles down the streets, people watch in awe. The combination of elegance, history, and our small, eye-catching fleet is simply unbeatable.

In short: Gendarmenmarkt is a must-see —and a truly wow experience from the hot rod.

Checkpoint Charlie

13.) Fisherman's Island

Next, we cruise past Fischerinsel —a place that may seem a little unremarkable at first glance, especially after all the huge monuments and wow moments that came before. But don't be fooled: Fischerinsel is one of the oldest inhabited parts of Berlin and has its own unique, quiet charm.

As you cruise along in your hot rod, you immediately sense how the atmosphere changes. It becomes a little more relaxed, a little more subdued—almost as if the city were taking a deep breath here. Between the banks of the Spree, small paths, and historic surroundings lies a Berlin that many people don't even know exists.

And that's exactly why: if you have time, be sure to come back on foot. A walk across the island is really worthwhile. You'll discover little corners, beautiful views of the water, and a mix of history and urbanity that is only hinted at in the hot rod.

Driving by is cool – but it's worth coming back for a second visit. From here, we cruise back to the R.A.W. site and end our little Berlin Discover Tour. The tour itself takes you past Berlin's best sights, but even as a Berliner, you'll have fun here, even if you already know the sights. Because for us, it's primarily about the driving experience. And of course, it's also about looking incredibly stylish and being photographed all the time, but that's just how it is when you drive through Berlin in a hot rod.

Come by,
and ride with us through Berlin.
You'll love it!
